Happy H{ippity} Hop - August 30, 2010

I made these necklaces for my sister and I to wear at CHA.  My camera didn't take a very good picture, but the red things are velvet gift bags I made for the necklaces.  I had embossed them with the same stamp I used to make the charm.  The charms were very simple to make.  First, I stamped the image (using Stazon Opaque - white) on black cardstock.  Then I used Mod Podge to adhere to the back of the glass stone (these were found in the floral department at Michael's they are used in the bottom of containers) and trimmed the edges.  Third, I glued the bail on (I used Weld Bond, my E6000 was dry I found a hole in the tube).  I let everything dry for 24 hours.  Last (the hardest part, I think), I threaded the chord through the bail (3 times) and attached the clasps.  Thanks for looking!

Happy H{ippity} Hop - August 23, 2010

The next two cards are cards (#6 and 7) I made for Traci at He IS Able
The inside is from "Devoted."
I mainly used the paper from October Afternoon (from the Spring release).  The first, patterned paper was used as the grass.  I cut apart blossoms from Doodlebug flower ribbon and added jewels to the tree.  For the second card I used a paper doily to accent the image.  The images for both were taken from the "What Matters Most" kit and the sentiment for the inside of the second was from "Devoted."

Happy H{ippity} Hop - August 16, 2010

It's been awhile.  I have been busy both creating and working.  A friend (I made on SCS) asked me to help her out.  She wanted to start a Faith Inspired Blog (with a twist).  On her blog she gives hand made cards (almost daily).  It really is a beautiful place to visit.  It is called He IS Able.
These cards were part of a set of 10 I sent to Traci at He IS Able.
Both cards were made with "scraps" left over from previous projects.  The flower image on the second was made with a (now) retired Stampin' Up set, Definitely Decorative Daisy.  I don't remember what ink I used to make it, it was an extra image I had.  The sentiments on both cards were from {ippity}'s What Matters Most.
Check out JenMarie's blog, she's next on the Hop.  : )

A card for my Secret Sis and Traci at He IS Able

I made this card for my Secret Sister in Christ.  I sent her a goodie package with her very own set of "Faith Blooms."  She also got a sampling of 6x6 designer paper, ribbon, flower embellies, and craft cardstock.  I hope she likes it.  Here's a pic of the inside:

The next few postings will be religious in nature.  I met a wonderful lady on Splitcoaststampers, Traci.  She started a blog, He IS Able on July 1.  Check it out.  Not only is it a beautiful blog, but very inspirational too.  Traci asked me if I would make some cards for her blog.  I was so honored (and touched), I made 10.  Another reason to visit, Traci gives away the cards she receives.
Here is the one I made using "Faith Blooms."

I know yesterday was Father's Day.  This is the card I made my husband.  He really appreciated the washer I used (because I had to raid his workshop for it).

Ippity Hippity Hop Challenge #25

This week's challenge was to create a project with something faux.  Since I have 3 High School Graduations this Spring, I made each a wallet with matching card (and a little cash inside).  The flower was made with one of the flower images from the Now and Always Kit.  The pearl is actually a pearl snap (you know the kind you find on Western Shirts).  The paper (inside is K & Co.)  The button was made with poly shrink (same stamp that was used on the felt flower).  Here are more close ups:
The card layout is from Mojo Monday (May 17).  Thanks for looking!

Happy H{ippity} Hop! Monday, May 24

For last week's Hop Challenge we had to make a card using a photo for inspiration (below).  The photo reminded me of the Shabby Chic style in decorating.  This is my "shabby chic" card.  I used an image from Regal Greetings to make the frame for the sentiment.  The lace is scrap and the ribbon from Mike's $1 bin.  The charm is made from poly shrink.  I believe it is Shrinky Dinks brand in almond.  I stamped with Burnt Umber Hybrid ink, cut out, punched a hole in the middle, shrank and then put a glass head pin through.  Close ups are after the inspiration photo.

Happy H{ippity} Hop! Monday, May 17

I know what you are thinking especially after seeing the first 2 pictures, "what am I looking at?"
On Patti Lee's Blog she created a key chain using an Orbits gum wrapper for the template.  I didn't have any Orbits gum, I had Wrigley's Doublemint.  I improvised!  Inside I put 6 cards (5 with inspirational sentiments) held together with ribbon.  I used October Afternoon paper from the Spring Release.  I honestly don't know who makes the lighthouse image (it's a stamp I bought from a local craft store years ago).  The sentiments are from Devoted, What Matters Most, and Delightful Little Things.
Here are more pics of the cards:

Happy H{ippity} Hop - Monday, May 10

I originally made this card for 2 challenges- {ippity} challenge 22 - add stitches to your creation and my Blog Group (Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper - Oh My!)'s fourth challenge.  The stamped image is from the Because of You Kit.  I also used Bazzill's In Stitchez for the large flower.   I wasn't really all that pleased with it.  So, I created this:
The only problem with this card, no stitching.  Oh well, I can't have everything.
Here's the inside:
The leaves are from Where You Should Be and the sentiment is from Devoted.  The flowers are from a company called Petals & Possibilities.  These are real flowers in an epoxy pebble (Petal Pebbles).
Here's more close-ups:
