Happy H{ippity} Hop - March 21, 2011

This week's post was so looong, I had to cut it into 2 parts.  So part one is this week and part 2 will be for next week's hop.

The Blog Group I belong to is having a "Secret Owl Swap."  We had to send our "owlet" something crafty to work with (I sent a set of {ippity} stamps, of course) and something handmade.  This is my handmade project, a mini album.  This is the cover.

Page 1:
Every page has a tag that pulls out:
Pages 2 and 3:
Pages 4 and 5 (here comes the {ippity} part):
The page on the left is actually a "flip flap album."  The directions can be found here.  I'll be posting the pages of the flip flap album page next week.  I used images from "Now and Always" on the mini album cover.  The bird on the right is from "Sing a New Song."

The tag for the page on the right:
Pages 6 and 7:

 Page 8:
Music and Bird Image from "Music of My Heart"

The "background" for the flower is the heart image form "Music of My Heart" stamped in a circular pattern.

This image is from Sweet Pea Stamps.  I know its not an {ippity} stamp, but on my "other" blog I've been practicing coloring with Copic markers, these stamps were great for skin tones and hair color.  Since my "owlet" has been very kind and encourages me to continue practicing I thought I should send her an image.  Thanks for looking!

Happy H{ippity} Hop - January 31

Here's my week 4 card for {ippity}'s January 2011 Challenge - use brads.  I don't remember who makes the eyelet pattern paper.  The flower was made by using many stamps, first I stamped Gurnsey Gingham, Dots for Sure, and A Bit of Burlap with Moulin Rouge - Palette ink on white cardstock.  Then, I stamped this blossom from Now and Always on each, cut and assembled my flower holding it together with a gold brad.  The stitching was done with Bazzill's In Stitchz "Surprise Party" template.  The butterfly and sentiment were from Now and Always.

This is for my personal "Magazine Monday" challenge.  The card "Poinsettia Music Card" by Terri Milstead was my inspiration (found in Paper Crafts Magazine Holiday Cards & More vol. 5, page 18).  I stamped the music from Music of My Heart on tracing paper and used Tim Holtz Tea Bag Distressed Ink.  I then stamped flowers from Now and Always on sheet music (rescued from a Hymnal in the recycle bin).  The sentiment is from Sing a New Song.

Now to share something cute.  This is what greeted me Friday night when I was working in the craft room:
My two year old son, Damian.  Luckily I had the camera for taking pics of my cards.

Happy H{ippity}Hop - January 17, 2011

I made this card for my personal "Magazine Monday Challenge."  The inspiration for this card can be found in the January/February 2011 (yes, the current issue) of Paper Crafts magazine (p. 62).  Kalyn Kepner designed the card, "Lifetime of Love."
Paper:  Kraft, Echo Park, October Afternoon
Images/Sentiment:  Now & Always
Ink:  Palette Burnt Umber
Misc: scrap ribbon, Bazzill pearl brads, MS punch

This card is for {ippity}'s January Challenge - Week 2.  Check out this week's challenge, here.  I used the first week's sketch and last week's colors to create this card.  I thought my brain was going to explode!
Thanks for looking!
 Paper:  Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories
Images:  Farm Fresh, Quotes a la Happy
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Misc.:  scrap lace, MS punch
*I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots design team.

Happy H{ippity} Hop - August 30, 2010

I made these necklaces for my sister and I to wear at CHA.  My camera didn't take a very good picture, but the red things are velvet gift bags I made for the necklaces.  I had embossed them with the same stamp I used to make the charm.  The charms were very simple to make.  First, I stamped the image (using Stazon Opaque - white) on black cardstock.  Then I used Mod Podge to adhere to the back of the glass stone (these were found in the floral department at Michael's they are used in the bottom of containers) and trimmed the edges.  Third, I glued the bail on (I used Weld Bond, my E6000 was dry I found a hole in the tube).  I let everything dry for 24 hours.  Last (the hardest part, I think), I threaded the chord through the bail (3 times) and attached the clasps.  Thanks for looking!

Ippity Hippity Hop Challenge #25

This week's challenge was to create a project with something faux.  Since I have 3 High School Graduations this Spring, I made each a wallet with matching card (and a little cash inside).  The flower was made with one of the flower images from the Now and Always Kit.  The pearl is actually a pearl snap (you know the kind you find on Western Shirts).  The paper (inside is K & Co.)  The button was made with poly shrink (same stamp that was used on the felt flower).  Here are more close ups:
The card layout is from Mojo Monday (May 17).  Thanks for looking!

Happy H{ippity} Hop! Monday, May 24

For last week's Hop Challenge we had to make a card using a photo for inspiration (below).  The photo reminded me of the Shabby Chic style in decorating.  This is my "shabby chic" card.  I used an image from Regal Greetings to make the frame for the sentiment.  The lace is scrap and the ribbon from Mike's $1 bin.  The charm is made from poly shrink.  I believe it is Shrinky Dinks brand in almond.  I stamped with Burnt Umber Hybrid ink, cut out, punched a hole in the middle, shrank and then put a glass head pin through.  Close ups are after the inspiration photo.
